Welcome to all alumni, fans, friends, and anyone else who dislikes Ohio State to the offical Charleston Spirit Group.  This year we will once again be meeting at the MadRiver Sports Bar and Grill downtown.  We have a private area reserved with some great food and drink specials specific to UM Football games. This is also a very kid friendly environment during the day, especialy with the candy store right next door!  

Join the Michigan Mug Club, personalize your own 1 liter mug, and receive great drink specials anytime! 
If you have tickets to sell, let me know and I will post them next to the appropriate game.

FOOTBALL 2010

Game #1. UCONN 3:30PM  We will be on the patio with our own bartender and service staff.  Come join us!  Parking in the garage may be tight as WVU has a game at the same time this week.  MadRiver is expecting a full house of Mountaineers so get here early.
What a great turnout!  At least 60 people!!  Michigan looked pretty solid on offense and pulled off the win against a solid UCONN team that finished 2009 on a roll. 

Game#2. NOTRE DAME 3:30PM  We will have the whole place to ourselves this week.  Lets pack the main room and show Mad River what the Big Blue can do!!  ND is currently favored by 3pts at home.  If the game is anything like last year, we should have a great game on our hands.
Our numbers are growing!  We had approximately 70 people pack the main room and patio to watch Notre Dame fall to the Wolverines in the last minute for the second straight year.  Couldn't have asked for a better start!!  Great game and thanks to all for your support!

Game #3. UMASS 12:00PM
Kind of a YAY, no way, YAY kind of game.  We looked good but gave up a lot of points to a team we should beat handily.  They are good in their division but this should have been a 30 point blowout.  Perhaps we were trying some new things. 

Game #4. BOWLING GREEN
Its Bowling Green...do we really need to update this one? 

Game #5. INDIANA
Big Ten Opener!!  Lots of pressure on everyone not to repeat last year's performance.  Once again Denard lit up the stat sheet but the loss of Brian Shaw in the bowling green game is evident.  We need his speed and presence in the backfield to take some pressure off.  Hopefully he will be back by MSU.  I've missed two weeks in a row, not missing MSU!

Game #6. MICHIGAN STATE 3:30pm at MadRiver! Side Room and Patio...for now.
This is another shared time with WVU so it is imperative that we do our best to show up in numbers.  The folks at Mad River have rented additional tables and chairs and are adjusting screens to maximize viewing but its still a numbers game.  Without your support, it will be the patio and side room until we can outnumber West Virginia.  Come on people!  This is THE decisive game of the year!  How much have we improved?  Can our defense hold up or at least hold on to give our offense a chance??  Be there at 3pm!!

Game #7. IOWA 3:30pm at MadRiver Main Room

Game #8. PENN ST. 8PM at MadRiver, Main Room or Side Room and BAck Patio TBD  No WVU
PLEASE< PLEASE< PLEASE!!!  Try to RSVP directly to me if you can attend.  We have an invite on our facebook page but if you are not on Facebook, send me an email with the number in your party attending.  This promises to be a very busy night downtown.  PLUS...$400 prize for sexiest male and female costumes!

Game #9. ILLINOIS- Record setting 67-65 Victory.  Rich Rod saves his job and we are bowl eligible.

Game #10. PURDUE- UGLY game, but a victory.  Much preferred over a good looking loss ANYTIME.

Game #11. WISCONSIN- 12pm game time.  Come on down and join us.  PLEASE if you can come, RSVP to me on Facebook or send me an email directly with how many in your party.  Very important for this week.

Game #12. OHIO STATE 12pm game time.  No WVU game.  We are trying to plan out a pre game tailgate on the patio.  ANY ideas are welcome.  Just send me a note!

BOWL GAME vs. Mississippi State January 1 @1:30pm  MadRiver will be open.  Or just come down south and join us AT THE GAME!!  Check out the facebook page for more information.

PARKING-
I have found the garage at 1 Cumberland Street to be very economical ($5 or less) and convenient. Coming from North Charleston or Mount Pleasant, just follow East Bay to Chapel Street where you have a left turn arrow. That road will wind around and eventually come to the market. Go past market street and look for Cumberland street on the right. The garage will be on your left. From there, take Cumberland to East Bay, and then cross to N. Market Street. There is a candy store on the corner and Mad River is almost right next door. Leaving is just as easy and you should avoid the touristy areas with conjested traffic.
